Training
Various training courses with regard to the care of children and young adults with specific socio-emotional needs are offered by CDSE specialists in collaboration with the National Education Training Institute (IFEN).
The methods and techniques related to the specialized educational psychology of the CDSE can be applied not only in the teaching of the children with special needs, but also in those of the whole student population.
STEP for teachers
In particular, the socio-emotional development of pupils, but also the management of the whole class and the cooperation with parents and staff raise many questions. In this context, the "STEP-Teacher" training is intended to promote an appreciative and professional learning environment.
STEP Teachers is based on STEP (Systematic Training for Effective Parenting) which offers a practical and immediately applicable approach. In addition, content from developmental and trauma pedagogy is included.
Through role-plays, discussions, reflections and practical implementation in daily working life, participants are encouraged to experiment the theoretical approaches and consolidate them through constant self-reflection.
The CDSE offers continuing education "STEP Teacher" in cooperation with IFEN once a year or on request as internal training at the school.
The program covers a total amount of 24 hours, which can be divided into 4 or 8 days.
Colloquium
In recent years, the school has had to face great challenges in teaching and accompanying students perceived as "difficult". Classroom disruptions, aggressive verbal behavior, intimidation by other students, withdrawing and avoidance behavior can push school staff to the limits of their possibilities for action. These escalation processes explain the hindered development of pupils and express a great need for support in the socio-emotional field.
How can I react as a professional and as a school? What are the possibilities of the students in question and how can institutional interactions contribute to a successful support?
The CDSE colloquium "Students who explode the system" offers the opportunity for an exchange and gives new tools for working with students with high socio-emotional needs.
